Welcome to Louisville's premier boating address. Captain's Quarters Yacht Club was opened in 1991 and sits on approximately 15.5 acres. The marina has 206 floating slips that are all owned by members in a dockominium style deed arrangement. The slips in Captain's Quarters range in size from 12' wide x 46' long to 28' wide x 75' long. All slips have city water, 30 and/or 50 amp electric, the ability for cable TV and phone service to individual power pedestals. Wireless internet access is available throughout the marina.

Management is performed by an all-volunteer Board of owners consisting of a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and three Directors. We have a full-time, paid Harbormaster,  Steve Draper. 

The marina offers its slip owners immediate access to the Ohio River at mile marker 597 via Harrods Creek. With Harrods Creek separating the marina from the river, silting is significantly reduced. Additionally, to assist in the prevention of any algae accumulating, we have placed three pumps having approximately 1m gallon capacity to pump fresh water into the marina. These pumps pull water from an 80-foot deep water-aquifier in the marina. These factors equate to less maintenance and cleaner water.

The marina tries to maintain an equal depth of six feet throughout in normal pool. The highest flood waters since the marina opened were in March 1997 when the river crested some 25 feet above normal pool. The marina was unaffected by these waters while many nearby houses and buildings suffered severe damage.

Amenities include a party deck that can be used for private parties and well manicured grounds. It is located within walking distance of Captain's Quarters Riverside Grille, a prominent dining and entertainment spot in Louisville. Captain's Quarters Yacht Club is one of the few places in this pool that offers a pumpout station that is available to all boaters at no charge. The waste is pumped directly into the Metropolitan Sewer District lines for treatment.  It is a gated community so owners feel safe knowing the people inside the marina are either owners of invited guests.
